Movies and Cocktails

Well it is about time.

CHECK THIS OUT: http://www.cobbcinebistro.com/about-home.asp

I cannot wait for this movie EXPERIENCE to come to the RVA! Cocktails, food and LEATHER seats and all while watching a movie?  I am there. Yes, it is going to be over priced, yes you can do this in your living room (if you have leather, a chef and a bartender), but no not really.

Going to the movies for me is an event; I LOVE IT.  You show up, wait in line and buy a  pricey ticket from someone behind some thick incarcerated plastic (although I am not sure why, I need to look into this-germs maybe???) in a nice uniform.

And then what? Layered buttered popcorn that is what. If you don’t order your popcorn with layered butter you’re missing out.

WARNING: Get extra napkins or you will ruin your clothing with greasy goodness. I’ve lost many pairs of jeans to to a layered butter popcorn coma.

What comes next? PREVIEWS. My FAVORITE part about going to the movies. I LOVE LOVE seeing what is to come. A little glimpse into the future shows me my lazy Sunday TBS movie marathons to come , pure BLISS!

And now it looks like its going to get even better.   CineBistro (imagine me saying this with the fancy character thing that goes on top of the e in Cine) is going to ensure me a glass of wine before the movie even starts ( oh and maybe a meal too, but who cares about that).  It will be just like riding in first class; drink in hand before you take off . Tucker made a big mistake upgrading me to first class that day  and I have a feeling that he’ll also be regretting when he takes me here on opening night because I’ll never go back to those coach seat movie theaters.

Oh and if you didn’t notice, I did not even mention the movie part. Really, it doesn’t matter. Watching a great movie is just a bonus, especially with all of these perks but I usually don’t waste my money on bad ones. Really though, I could watch anything with a glass of wine and a comfy chair and leave happy.

Oh and if you have not watched Dane Cook’s stand up about going to the movies check it out; its HILARIOUS ( be sure to watch them both):

Thank you to my friend Kristy for giving me a heads up about this place; looking forward to our first girls night here!

Date Night

I LOVE me some date night. It is very rare that Tucker and I do an official date night together. I mean we are busy and important people ya know, we just don’t have time.

The best thing about date night is that Tucker almost ALWAYS let’s me pick where I want to go to dinner. I have not decided on tonight’s location, but last time we had a date night we went to Dot’s Back Inn. Dots is located in the Lakeside area of Richmond and was featured on The Food Networks’ Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.

As soon as we walked in the door we could see there would be a wait, it was  packed (good sign); the bar seating was full. Within 5 minutes of leaving our name with the hostess and getting in line to wait the bartender came over and took our drink order.

SOLD.

The food could have sucked (it didn’t-it was AWESOME) and the wait staff could have insulted my mother (they didn’t-they were AWESOME, way cooler than us) and I would have still went back just wait in line and drink beer, eat crappy food with rude people.  Dot’s had me at hello.
